JAKARTA, INDONESIA (BNO NEWS) — The Defense Ministry’s planning director on Wednesday said that a budget of 80 trillion Indonesian Rupiahs ($8.5 billion) for 2012 will be proposed to the Indonesian government.
The weaponry’s preparedness could be improved to a minimum of 80 percent and up to 90 percent with an $8.5 billion budget, said Bonggas. The planning director said that any rate above 1 percent of the GDP will be welcomed by the Defense Ministry.
Bonggas also announced that the ministry is planning to buy more radar units for improving the surveillance activities of the National Air Force which currently has 21 radio detecting and ranging units.
